William Everette White, known affectionately as Bill, passed away on August 8, 2024, in Knoxville, Tennessee, at the age of 77. Born on March 28, 1947, in Lake City, Bill lived a life marked by dedication to his family, a distinguished career, and service to his country.

Bill graduated from Lake City High School in 1965 and shortly thereafter joined the United States Air Force, where he served honorably for six years. After basic training in San Antonio, Texas, he was stationed for two years at Tachikawa Air Base near Tokyo. Afterwards, he was sent to Osan Air Base in Tague, South Korea. Later in 1969, he was stationed at Bien Hoa Air base, South Vietnam. In 1970 he was transferred to Kadena Air Base in Okinawa. After his military service, he began a longstanding career with Greyhound Bus Lines, where he was not only a committed employee but also served on the executive board for the Amalgamated Transit Union in the Southeast region.

Bill’s personal interests were as diverse as his commitments: he was passionate about fishing, hunting, woodworking, and traveling to National Parks.
