Jarica Mae Johnson

Jarica Mae Province Johnson, age 79, of Lake City, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at Cumberland Village Nursing Home in LaFollette, Tennessee. Born on June 1, 1946, in Lake City TN, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Edna Province. Jarica was of the Baptist faith and member of Beach Grove Baptist Church. She worked many years caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant and a Substitute Teacher. Jarica enjoyed shopping on Temu, crocheting, reading and playing bingo with her close friends. Her greatest joy however came from being surrounded by her children. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents. Her Husband Gilbert Johnson and her son, Mitchell whom she has deeply grieved since his passing in 1986.

She is survived by her children:

• Son, Randy Johnson

• Daughter, Rebecca (Becky) and Son in Law Kelly

•Daughter Lee Ann Bowman and husband Randy

•Daughter Susie Armstrong

Seven grandchildren :

• Andrew Johnson and wife Diana.

• Emma Johnson

Nine great-grandchildren:

• Lyla and Taytum Cannon

•Phinix Pelliccio

She is also survived by her brother, Gary Province. A Niece, a Nephew and several close cousins.

Jarica’s life was a testament to her unconditional love, kind giving spirit, and steadfast faith. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and CNAs at Cumberland Village Nursing Home for the compassionate care they provided to Jarica during her time there.

Visitation: 5:00PM - 7:00PM, Monday, September 29, 2025 at the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel in Lake City.

Funeral Service: 7:00PM, Monday, September 29, 2025 at the Hatmaker Funeral Home chapel in Lake City with Rev. John Brown officiating.

Interment: Family and friends will meet at 11:30AM, on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at the Hatmaker Funeral Home in Lake City to go in procession to Wilson Cemetery in Lake City, Tennessee for a 12 Noon burial
