James "Jim" Lewis Sprankles, age 78, a resident of Clinton, Tennessee, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Methodist Medical Center. Born on September 26, 1946, in Anderson County, Tennessee, Jim was the son of the late Otis Sprankles and the late Maggie Massengill Sprankles. A devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Jim found the upmost joy in spending time with his family. He loved collecting coins, hunting, and fishing, especially when doing so with his family. More than anything, he cherished the time spent with his grandchildren, TJ and Sarah. He is preceded in death by his parents and multiple brothers and sisters
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dora Lee (Melton) Sprankles; daughter, Sherry Louise (James) Norman, of Andersonville; grandson, TJ (Jessie) Stooksbury of Knoxville; granddaughter, Sarah Ashlee (Tyler) Green of Mt. Juliet; great-granddaughter Ally, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. As well as friends G.B. Carden, Rudy Cox, and Patsy Prater.
Visitation: Thursday August 14, 2025, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Hatmaker Funeral Home in Lake City, with the funeral to start at 8:00pm.
Interment: August 15, 2025 at 1pm at Oak Grove Cemetery in Lake City. Jim Ault will be officiating.
