Carley Byrge

Carley Byrge age 84, of Rocky Top, TN passed away peacefully at the age of 84 with his family surrounded by him Friday June 13, 2025 at Oakridge Methodist Medical Center. Carley was a coalminer and worked for Devonia Coal Company for several years. He enjoyed country and gospel music. He loved gardening and raising chickens. He was a member of Grave Hill Baptist Church. He was an amazing husband and father.
He is preceeded in death by mother and father, Jim and Nanny Byrge, daughter Cindy Sellers, sons Larry Brown and Steve Keathley, grandsons Grayson Phillips, Josh Sellers, and River Whitaker, siblings Litha, Doll, Pauline, Dorothy, Ettie, Joby, Early, Eli, Ellis, Luther, and Jasper.

He is survived by wife Sue Pride Byrge of 31 years, children: Jimmy and Stephanie Byrge, Timmy Byrge, Tammy and Frank Phillips, Debby and Lisa Scharff Byrge, Jason Byrge, Jamey and Cary Byrge, Carlas Byrge, Billy Keathley, Libby and Chris Clyburn.Grandchildren April Hicks, Sarah Byrge, Josh and Daniel Brown, Jessica Webber, John and Steven Sellers, Franklin Phillips, John Phillips & Shamicca, Courtney & Richard Richardson, Brittney Byrge, Meghan Hodges, Abigail Popay, Rachel Ayers, Thomas Bergeron, Ashley Bergeron, Cordella and Jett Byrge, Cody, Caleb, Cayden and Corbyn Byrge, Tyler, Deja,Joey, Joseph and William Keathly, Daeja Daniels, Colby Gilson, Christopher and Brooklyn Whitaker, Adam Harness and Alisha Raines and many great grandchildren. He is also survived by special friends Gladys Phillips and Bobby Byrge.

Funeral Service: 7:00PM, Monday, June 16, 2025 at the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel in Lake City with Rev. Randy Moore

Interment: Family and friends will meet at Hatmaker Funeral Home at 11:00AM, Tuesday, June 17, 2025 to go in procession to Grave Hill Cemetery in New River, Tennessee.
