Brenda Lou (Turnbill) Eastom, 67, of Rocky Top, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Brenda was born on October 17, 1958, to Paris and Edna (Cox) Turnbill, of Lake City, Tennessee. She met Lyle Dean Eastom Jr. when she was 14 and he was 16. They went on to share more than 50 years together, building a home and raising their family together in lifelong devotion. She was the cherished mother of their two children, Barbara Ann Eastom and Clayton Earl Eastom.

Brenda’s life’s work was her family. She took great joy in being a wife, mother, and grandmother, and in all the ordinary acts of love that turned a house into a home. She loved flowers, and every summer her porch overflowed with blooms. She also enjoyed crocheting and reading. She will be remembered for her sweet spirit and kind heart that saw goodness in everyone.

Brenda is survived by her daughter, Barbara; grandchildren, Jacob Lyle Bates and Emily Ann Bates; twin sister, Connie Violet (Marshall); brother, Marcus Turnbill; nieces and nephews, Michael Violet, Melissa Violet (Brandon Phillips), Haley Brogran (Chris), Heather Garcia (Josh), and Violet Garcia; beloved lifelong friends, Rickey and Karen Kennedy; and many cherished cousins and extended family members. She also treasured the relationships she shared with her in-laws, whom she loved as her own family.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Paris and Edna Turnbill; her husband, Lyle Dean Eastom Jr.; and her son, Clayton Earl Eastom.

The family will celebrate her life privately. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Hatmaker Funeral Home.
