Albert Junior "JR" Goins

Albert Junior "JR" Goins, born on April 5, 1944, in Briceville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home with his family at his side in Rockwood, Tennessee, on August 4, 2026. He was 82 years old.

Throughout his life, Albert exemplified dedication to family and the values of integrity and kindness. He retired after 30 years of service with IHB Railroad. JR could often be found enjoying a NASCAR race. His presence was a steady and constant source of support, not only for his immediate family but also for a wide circle of relatives and friends who appreciated his unwavering commitment to those he loved.

Albert is survived by his devoted wife, Debora Lynn Goins, who stood by his side and shared a lifetime of memories. His legacy continues through his children: Lisa Estrada and (son-in-law Butch Estrada), Michelle Wetnight (and son-in-law Tony Wetnight), Tabby Lackey, Stephen Goins (and daughter-in-law Angel Goins), Jason R. Goins (and daughter-in-law Carrie Goins), Adam Goins (and daughter-in-law Leeann Goins), Jason A. Goins, Justin Goins, and Thomas Shirley Jr,  Among his surviving siblings are his brother Mark Goins (and sister-in-law Janice Goins), and his sister Karen Leach (and brother-in-law Junior Leach), and his 27 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren, and his beloved pet Lydia.

Albert was predeceased by his father, Worley Goins, and his mother, Naomi Goins. His memory is also honored by those who preceded him in death: his daughter Christina Lodge; brothers Paul David Goins, Michael Stephen Goins, Allen Dewayne Goins, and James Keith Goins; and sisters Ruth Siefert and Brenda Knight.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance during a Celebration of Life on August 8, 2026, Visitation from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Hatmaker Funeral Home, 503 S. Main Street, Lake City, TN 37769. A service will follow at 5:00 pm with Rev. Troy Harmon. officiating.

Albert Junior "JR" Goins will be dearly missed by his loving family and all whose lives he touched. His enduring spirit lives on in the hearts of those privileged to have known him.
